Mark Krebs Area Rug - Stitch

This rug was hand-woven in Northern India before finding its way to your floor. It’s tight weave makes it ideal for high traffic areas, and supporting chair feet or table legs. It’s not super soft or loose, so it won’t catch on anything or shed too much in your home.

The STITCH rug is a series of hand woven wool rug strips, roughly the width of the human body.  This size is ideal for the rug weaver to work quickly and independently.  After weaving, the strips are placed side by side and hand stitched together to make a full size area rug.  The strip lengths are slightly varied, which gives the weavers room for error when weaving and adds a unique edge detail to the rug.  The two tone neutral stripe pattern is also varied, which brings more understated complexity to this otherwise subtle design. 

Materials:
80% Indian wool (the weft)
20% Cotton (the warp)

100% of the materials used to make STITCH are natural, which means the colors and patterns in your rug will be slightly different from your friend’s, for example.

Care:
Flatweaves are dense, durable, and resistant… even the lightweight ones. That means you’ll be happy together for quite some time, so long as you take care of each other. We can help you do that, with a few simple tips:

1. Professional dry cleaning is your best bet
2. Feel confident about blotching spills with a damp cloth
3. Take a vacuum to it regularly
4. If you see a loose yarn, resist the urge to pull! Simply snip off the excess with sharp scissors
5. Rug pads rule, we recommend using one
